In addition, 1HomeRebate uses information provided by home buyers to assist them in finding a home and uses information provided by home sellers in assisting them to sell their homes.
3. Sharing of the information
1HomeRebate will never provide identifiable user information to real estate agents or any other third party until the user has requested us to. When buyers and sellers request an agent, 1HomeRebate will inform the agent of the criteria that the user has specified regarding the home they are seeking or selling. 1HomeRebate will also provide the agent with contact information. This is necessary for the agent to assist the user in buying or selling a home.
Agents' contact information and area of specialty will be communicated to buyers and sellers when they are referred. This information is necessary for the buyer or seller to contact the agent.
Mortgage affiliate information is communicated to the agent when buyers and sellers are referred. This is to prevent agents from referring buyers to a different loan source. At the time of referral, 1HomeRebate notifies the referring mortgage affiliate of the buyer or seller and the agent's contact information. The mortgage affiliate is also notified at the beginning of escrow.
1HomeRebate will divulge information as necessary to comply with applicable laws.
4. Opt-out policy
1HomeRebate gives users options wherever necessary and practical. Such choices include:
· Two part registration process which allows users to use our resources and receive tips without providing detailed information regarding the home they are seeking or selling
· Remove links on e-mail through our database marketing program
· Customer service through e-mail, telephone, and post through which users can request to be removed from future contact
5. Correct/update policy
1HomeRebate requests that users notify us as soon as is practicable regarding any error in our information. 6. Security
1HomeRebate takes strict measures to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information collected. All employees are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and in their training programs emphasis is placed on the matter of customer confidentiality. Access to data is only on a 'need to know' basis. Data access is secured by a random password that is modified periodically. We review our web security on an ongoing basis. We do not collect or keep any sensitive information such as credit card information or social security numbers via our web site.
